Senior Procurement Manager

Location: North West England
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Senior Procurement Manager to lead our procurement function within our established cable manufacturing business based in the North West.
This is a key leadership role responsible for developing and delivering procurement strategies that optimise cost, quality, supplier performance and continuity of supply.
Working closely with Production, Engineering, Sales and Finance, you will play a critical role in supporting business growth and operational excellence.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Purchasing Team to achieve high performance.
  • Develop and deliver effective procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiations and long-term agreements.
  • Drive cost savings, supplier improvements and supply chain resilience.
  • Manage sourcing of key raw materials, including metals, polymers and manufacturing consumables.
  • Monitor supplier performance, market trends and procurement risks.
  • Support continuous improvement across purchasing processes and systems.
About You
You will be an experienced procurement professional with:
  • A strong background in senior purchasing or procurement roles within manufacturing.
  • Proven experience negotiating supply agreements and delivering cost improvements.
  • Excellent commercial, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing UK and international suppliers.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
Experience within cable manufacturing, electrical, engineering or industrial manufacturing would be highly advantageous. CIPS membership or qualifications would be desirable.

Rail Manager

Location: North West England
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
 
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Rail Manager to lead and grow our rail business within our established cable manufacturing company based in the North West.
This is a key role responsible for developing customer relationships, identifying new opportunities and ensuring the successful delivery of rail projects. Working closely with Sales, Engineering, Production and Operations, you will help drive continued growth and strengthen our position as a trusted supplier to the rail sector.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver the rail sector strategy to support business growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key rail customers and stakeholders.
  • Identify new opportunities and support tenders, bids and commercial proposals.
  • Manage customer requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver quality, service and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant rail industry standards and customer expectations.
  • Monitor market trends and support continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
You will have:
  • Proven experience within the rail industry, ideally within manufacturing, cable, electrical or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of rail supply chains, customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Experience managing customers, projects or business development activities.
  • Excellent commercial, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, results-focused approach with the ability to build strong relationships.
Experience with rail cable systems, Network Rail requirements or rail infrastructure projects would be highly advantageous.
